6. Seeing Observation
(4 out of 5)
Some of the steadiest conditions observing Jupiter that I have seen in the past 30 years. There were times when Jupiter would remain crystal clear, motionless, for 5 seconds or more at a time. Such moments of clarity were frequent and pronounced. This was unexpected by me, since a cold front had cleared the area about 8 hrs prior to the observation and the temperature had dropped 20+ degrees F. Apparently, however, the temperature had stabilized by 05Z. A pleasure. One of those nights to remember for a while here in North Carolina.
